We invite you to join us on an outdoor spring adventure on Earth Day Weekend, Saturday, April 20, with church family and friends. We will nourish our souls and enhance our mental, spiritual, and physical health on our spring EcoWalk.
Our Spring EcoWalk will take place from 4:30-6:00 pm at Big Rock Forest Preserve, 46W072 Jericho Road, Big Rock (just west of Sugar Grove). We will meet in the first parking lot off the main entrance road. Trails are limestone screenings, which are considered accessible, but are not the same as paved.
FVPC member Jeff Mengler, who will lead the Spring EcoWalk, has chosen this preserve as one that is known to have good amphibian populations so that hopefully we can learn some frog and toad calls. The preserve also has a 32-acre quarry lake. If you have binoculars, please bring them as there are likely to be some migratory birds.
